Biscayne Engineering Company has been selected as the civil / site engineer for the latest phase of student housing at Florida International University. Biscayne Engineering Company’s scope of work includes the preparation of plans for the projects paving, drainage and water and sewer systems. The first phase of the project consists of two buildings interconnected by a pedestrian bridge and will provide housing for 630 students. The area between the two buildings is designed to create a “main street†atmosphere. The project includes an adjoining 3-story parking garage. The second phase of the project will house an additional 570 students.
Parkview Housing will be the fifth student housing facility at the campus and will serve as the signature facility for the housing complex. Biscayne Engineering Company has served as the civil / site engineer for the last three housing facilities. The Parkview Housing project is being designed to meet LEED Gold standards at Florida International University. Mr. Albert Dettbarn, Vice President with Biscayne stated, “We are very excited to contribute to this landmark project.â€
